Thread checker/identifier (bench version)
Переглядів 1699 місяців тому
Work bench thread checkers are one of the most useful tools. Always accessible when you need to find the size and pitch of a nut or bolt. Get the right fastener the first time, rather than digging through a jar of nuts and bolts...or buying several sizes, hoping to have the right one. If you collect fasteners, a thread checker will keep them organized. ua-cam.com/video/-qT08-0X3pE/v-deo.html Sh...

A stationary work bench thread checker is useful and convenient, but the nut or bolt must be taken to it. There are times when the size and pitch of a threaded hole or stud is needed on the vehicle. The work bench checker will be of no help...you can't take it to the vehicle. A mobile thread checker can do what a work bench checker can't...identify measurements at the vehicle. Good video, but you should've said something about the EGR valve gasket sooner so I could've at least attempted to see where it fell

Is that 3.0 motor a "Duratec" (24 valve) or a "Vulcan"? At least on the Taurus and Sable, the Vulcan has the alternator at the top of the engine; the Duratec has its alternator at the bottom of the engine.

At 1:55, I would change the graphic to "Newer models do not use a throttle cable, nor have an Idle Control Valve." Technically, they have an ELECTRONIC cable to connect to the electronically operated throttle body.

I'm looking for some help. I just replaced my thermostat, water pump, and radiator. Everything was going good up until I was going through the first step of putting new coolant into the system. I had Motor OIL coming out of the housing. After disassembling I realized I forgot the dang gasket! My question is, why is there oil in the housing to begin with? Is it supposed to be there to cool? After I installed the gasket there wasn't any leak. I have to do another flush and new coolant again. But, is there a bigger problem now?

By far the best comprehensive repair video I’ve watched in a long time. I would say the only thing missing to make it perfect is displaying what the part number is, but understand it could different depending on year/model. Off to Autozone to buy a new resistor, thanks!

Easier to remove the cv axle nut with the wheels on the ground. That is, if you don't have an air impact tool.

One important thing to remember is to NOT BUMP the MAF Sensor. Do not touch the probes with a brush or fingers or anything else. The tiny needle-like probes are extremely delicate. I had a Ford F-150 that started jumping and stalling intermittently and after having several mechanics troubleshoot with no success, I found that a mouse had gotten into the air filter and chewed little bits off. The impact of these paper bits bounced off the MAF sensor, damaging it. There was no visible damage to the sensor. After replacing the sensor all was well again. I also inserted a wire screen inside the air intake tube to keep little varmints out.
